New England Pituitary Treatment Center
Patients with pituitary disorders achieve optimal outcomes when evaluated and followed by a multidisciplinary team. The New England Pituitary Treatment Center offers a team of medical specialists led by an endocrinologist, Dr. Michael Gordon as Medical Director, the neurosurgeons of New England Neurological Associates, and radiation oncologists at Caritas Holy Family Hospital.
Optimal care of the pituitary patient requires close coordination among these specialties and attentive monitoring of complex, interacting, and changing hormonal replacement therapies. This team approach has been shown to increase quality of life and reduce the increased mortality experienced by patients with hypopituitarism that may result from successful treatment of pituitary tumors.
There is presently no such resource for patients with pituitary disorders in the Merrimack Valley. The most up to date treatment options are available at the Center, resulting in close vigilance of the patient for the possible development of hormonal deficiencies, and optimal follow-up over time.
